Oct 1st – A Day to Reflect

Here I am. The day of my second birthday, as I prefer to call it. This day is also something that 22,000 other survivors just take one minute at a time. I don’t choose to remember it year-round, but the body has an internal alarm clock that reminds you of great stress. I slept like crap last night because PTSD said “Remember when you were being shot at? Remember your heart rate racing? Remember wondering when it would stop?” There’s more, but you understand the message.

Our journey and destiny is pre-written. We don’t get to see the story ahead of time. We have to live every day! That’s what I choose every morning. It’s not always a day of roses; however, this day stands out significantly. To my Route 91 Family, you are one of the most significant people in my life. If any of you read this today, I hope you are moving through it okay. These feelings of stress will fall away tomorrow.

I leave you with this thought I shared the other day. Love Wins.
